Q: Is this account ship and NSFW friendly?
A: Yes! I RT any ship and projects of any rating. Dead dove projects will be quote retweeted with a warning if no warning keyword is added on a tweet that needs it. Ship names already count as a tag/warning. I know that there's some ships that are popular yet controversial (kaeluc) that are bound to appear so I recommend that followers on this account or the lists I make mute the accounts about them. For minors, I suggest they toggle on the NSFW/adult content blocker and mute the words "NSFW", "18+", and "R18".Q: Do you vet accounts?
A: No. You are responsible for looking at the zine/event's carrd, info docs, and mods themselves.Q: There's already accounts that function as bulletins/updates for individual Hoyoverse games. Why did you make this?
A: At the time (August 2024) @genshinbulletin went on permanent hiatus and there was no ZZZ zine account. I made this to fill in both roles, but hopefully there's more accounts that are game specific! Ideally I'd like to transition this account to RT interest check, mod, and contributor apps only once there's other accounts to take up the game specific updates role.Q:Why is this zine marked as abandoned?
A:I mark projects as abandoned on the airtable if there hasn't been a tweet within the past 4 months and no indication of completion. For example, a charity zine's last tweet closing pre-orders and still not having updates on production or a final tweet posting their donation made. Which, if you're a buyer, contributor, or mod of a project that thinks something is mistakenly marked as abandoned, please tag or DM me!Q: What does AmaZine mean on the bulletin?
A: I mark fanzine and other projects managed by Truly AmaZine, a professional zine agency that takes a 15% to 20% cut in revenue (including shipping) for their own profit. Not everyone wants to contribute to or support a fan project that has a cut like that, especially for charity projects where contributors will not be getting paid, and especially if it isn't upfront in the project's carrd/info doc. A: I RT when I'm tagged. I also namesearch "fandom" + "zine". I'm in the ZineTown discord where I'm tagged when people promote genshin and hsr zine interest checks and pre orders. Lastly, when I find a new account, I add it to a twitter/bluesky list which is pinned to my home feed.Q: I don't want you to RT our account or have it added to your list. How do I let you know?
A: There's no way I can keep track of this and if I get softblocked to be removed from a list chances are I'll add the account again on accident in the future. Please permanently block this account. I don't take it personally and I don't block evade.

How To Start A Zine Updates Account in 2024

It's 2025 and unfortunately the amount of zine updates accounts are dwindling.Say you've wanted put matters in your own hands and start one that's pan-fandom or your fandom but have 50 inactive followers on your main and don't know how to start. Don't worry, this is the guide for you and how I made HoyoBulletin in August 2024 and grew to 400+ followers in less than a year. This guide can be replicated for pan-fandom bulletins and fandoms with an active ecosystem of zines and events.

How do I get zines to know I exist and tag me?
Namesearch through every single active zine in your fandom/scope and reply with a thumbs up or something with the affirmative that you retweeted it. Make your display name something obviously related to zine bulletins/updates. If their socials mod is on top of things, they should then add your @ to a list to copy and paste in future tweets. This is what I did for every single hoyoverse zine for the first few months. I don't consider this spammy as there's a benefit to both sides. They get a new account to promote through and you get something to do (+ indirect promotion). I admit that namesearching daily took a lot of effort and this was partially for selfish reasons as I wanted to be the one "in the know" of any new mod apps and preorders.How do I get people interested in zines to follow me?
Once zines start tagging you in their tag lists, people into zines start looking through these tag lists and following active accounts they haven't followed. If you set your display name to something related to your fandom + bulletin/updates, you will also be found in twitter search for people specifically looking for an account like yours. This will be compounded as more people follow you and you get tagged more often, so twitter will start recommending your account to the right people, and they're good at that.My fandom isn't active enough to have an active zine sphere.
This is where you can start retweeting other fandom events like bangs and exchanges. Assuming they follow the same tag list system, you will get free promotion attracting people who like fandom events to your account. If your fandom isn't active enough to do free events.... I'm sorry :(Twitter hates new accounts though?
That's correct. Elon's anti spam policy puts all new twitter accounts into a shadowban lite state where you may not appear in search, in the notifs of other accounts when you tag them, and shoved deep into the "show potential spam" tab when replying to someone. Your goal for the first month is to act like a "normal twitter user", which means liking tweets (I trained my for you page to show hoyoverse fanart and hoyoverse voice actor tweets, so it was enjoyable) every day. You'll know once this restriction has been lifted because you'll get a popup that you've unlocked more features on twitter after 2-3 weeks of doing this. What helps accelerate this process is if "non spammy" accounts interact with you. In this case -- your main and any friends willing to help.
